Beaufort-based writer Teresa Bruce used the photographs of Transfer of Grace as inspiration for the opening narrative about the Lowcountry. Her documentary about the Gullah culture of the Lowcountry, God’s Gonna Trouble the Water, aired nationally on PBS and won a Cine Golden Eagle Award. She is currently writing a non-fiction travel narrative about Latin America.
