William Rawlings Jr., author

William Rawlings, a semi-retired doctor of internal medicine, was born, raised and still lives on the family farm in Sandersville, Georgia.  As an author who began writing only a few years before his first novel was published, he has established a solid reputation as a creator of “Southern thrillers.”  In addition to his four mystery novels in print, he is a frequent contributor to newspapers and magazines, writing on a wide variety of topics ranging from humor to history.   Rawlings states, “One of life’s greatest pageants is the continuity of life in small, small Southern towns.  Characters wander in and out, plying their intrigues and playing their roles, both major and minor.  There’s hardly a need for fiction, as the truth is oftentimes more bizarre.  What more inspiration could a writer ask for?”
